Mambo and Meringue both are popular Latin dance. Mambo is a dance that began in the Latin culture and originated in Cuba, the largest Caribbean island. Mambo music was first created and was made popular by a man Perez Prado, who is credited with inventing Mambo dancing. Mambo dance became ever more popular when Prado Perez, marketed his music under the name "mambo."Mamba dance is a mixture of Afro-Caribbean and Latin American cultures. The original version of the mambo was made up of foot-steps that were hard to learn and perform. Mambo is a slow, soft and precise dance that doesn't move very much. It was first launched in Havana and then Prado made it popular in Mexico and till now, Mambo lessons are given at dance schools all over Mexico. Mambo is a spot dance that is hot, sensuous and exciting. Its various moves include turns, breaks, and spins. Mambo dance is similar in rhythm to the rumba. It is a modern American Latin dance to the rhythm of the mambo music. Mambo today exists mainly in competition.
